On 1 April 2009, The Scottish Fisheries Protection Agency (SFPA) was merged with the Scottish Government Marine Directorate and Fisheries Research Services (FRS) to form Marine Scotland – Scotland’s new marine management organisation.

Marine Scotland established

Marine Scotland was launched on 1 April 2009, it combines the functions of the Scottish Fisheries Protection Agency, the Fisheries Research Services and the Marine Directorate.

Fleet Gathering

Lamlash Bay no take zone (NTZ) (Marine Reserve)

The Scottish Government issued a Statutory Instrument (SSI) which prohibits all fishing for sea fish within Lamlash Bay, Isle of Arran
